Do you remember your confirmation classes? I have to admit, I didn’t really have any. I was confirmed just before selection for training for ordination, and my then parish church, where I was baptised as an adult, didn’t really go in for confirmation. I’ve always wished that I’d had the chance to be part of a group journeying together towards our confirmation, deepening our understanding of our faith together.
Of course, many people will have done confirmation classes, but they may have been a long time ago. In January Bishop Alison is coming to St Mary’s to do a confirmation and I thought this would be the perfect chance for us to revisit our own confirmation classes and journey together with out confirmands towards their own big day.
I’m going to run a series of sessions called ‘Refresh your Confirmation!’ on Saturday lunchtimes in the Mark Kirby Hall. We’ll provide drinks, bring your own sandwiches, and we’ll learn together over lunch. The sessions will be very informal. It’ll be a chance to tackle some big questions about the Christian faith and Christian living, and to ask questions we’ve always wanted to know the answer to. All are invited and all are welcome!
with my prayers and blessings, Nicola
