At this week’s PCC meeting we had lots to discuss and we made some notable decisions:
- We have now decided on the design and wording for our new noticeboard. The publicity group will now investigate prices ready for us to order our new noticeboard for delivery.
- We also decided on a design for a new logo, based on our beautiful building. Once the designer has got back to us with we’ll be ready to unveil it.
- We set up a project group to oversee the next steps of our reordering project – writing a ’statement of needs’, which is what we think our building needs and why it’s important, conducting consultations and employing an architect. We are looking for two volunteers from the congregation who aren’t on the PCC to be part of this group — could this be you? Please get in touch with the Rector if you would like to know more.
- We discussed the ‘freewill offer’ which is the amount of money we give the diocese to cover the costs of my ministry and other shared costs such as the buildings advice team and the cost of training new clergy and lay ministry. We decided to give £55.000, an increase of £2,000 on this year, so that we will make a small contribution on behalf of churches in deprived areas which can hardly give anything.
- We thanked all those who made our part of Cottingham Day such a success, and also those who run the Coffee Shop on Saturday mornings.
with my prayers and blessings, Nicola
