Last Tuesday we held a service to remember lives lost to suicide, the first service of its kind we have ever done. In the service we heard stories from those who have lost loved ones to suicide, and there were opportunities to share the names of those we were remembering, and to light a candle for them. It was an extremely moving service, and I would be happy to repeat it next year. Special thanks to Stephen Hodgson, whose work with Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide inspired the service, to Helen and Margaret for providing refreshments afterwards so people could stay to chat, and to Garry for verging at very short notice.
Next Sunday, 22nd September, will be the 50th anniversary of Fr James’s ordination to the priesthood. We will be celebrating his golden jubilee on Sunday morning and there will be special refreshments after the service. Please do join us to celebrate this great day.
with my prayers and blessings, Nicola
