Revd Dr Nicola Bown, Rector
I’ve been the Rector of St Mary’s since 2020, arriving in the middle of lockdown. I was ordained in 2016 and served my curacy in Cambridgeshire. Before that I taught Victorian art and literature at Birkbeck College in London. I’m married with two sons. I’m really excited to be here in Cottingham at this new stage in the life of St Mary’s.
Margaret Wright, Church Warden
I first attended services at St Mary’s in the late 1960s when I was a student and, many years later, I have been elected Churchwarden, a role I am really enjoying. I retired from teaching in 2010 and now find I have time to enjoy sewing, patchwork and cross-stitch. I am married with a son and daughter and have two grandsons.

Julian Savory, Director of Music
I was born in Reading, Berks. but have been living and working in East Yorkshire for many years. I am a free-lance musician and work extensively with choirs and private pupils. I am well known as a pianist and organist and have been Director of Music at St. Mary’s church since December 2003.
